A Study on The Local Public Officials¡¯ Recognitions of the Integrated Care Management System for the Elderly

Abstract
This study is to analyze how the local public officials recognize about the reality and the problems of community care management system, and to suggest specific implications for building integrative care management system in Korea. The results of this study are as follows. First, community care system of Korea is divided with the insurance system and the social service system. Second, to secure continuum of care system, an integrative care management system is necessary. Third, in the integrative care management, a independent organization should be in charge of the role. Fourth, the independent organizations should be laid out by geographical areas. Fifth, the persons in charge should be professionals about care management. Sixth, the persons in charge of independent organization should be secured so that they can have responsibility and authority to legally cover both the care insurance law and the welfare law, and so they should be the local public officials.
